Throwback Thursday: Bag in a Box

I remember when this was all the rage.  Everyone was making one of these on their blogs.  It is still so cute and you can definitely make this now using current Stampin' Up! DSP.  I actually just gave this to a friend for a small birthday surprise and I filled it with mini chocolate bars... of course.

Stamping with Scraps: Watercolor Wonder

This card was inspired by a card I saw in Stampin' Success magazine and I had these little scraps laying around.  Simple and nice!

Technique Tuesday: Mother of Pearl

This is the Mother of Pearl technique.  Not really one of my favorite techniques, but it's definitely cool and maybe it would look different with a more muted color palette.

Throwback Thursday: Stampin' Up! DSP Paper Bag Gift Bags

How cute are these DSP gift bags! This was one of our Demonstrator meeting projects... the paper is so pretty.  It's basically a brown paper bag covered in the front with one piece of cards stock and the back is another piece of longer card stock that is scored for the top flap.  And then both pieces are layered with beautiful Stampin' Up! DSP.  You can see the paper bag in the sideview photo below.

More Details on July Stamping Class Projects

Today I am sharing more details from my July stamping class.  Below are more detailed photos and descriptions of the projects.

Card and Envelope in one..  made this using the envelope punch board.  Cut DSP sheet 8 x 8 and punch and score at 3 1/8 on all 4 sides.  Inside card:  Cut Crisp Cantaloupe piece 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 and cut the white layer 3 1/2 x 3 1/2.  The belly band is 2 x 7 3/4.

Gift Bag with matching gift card.  I used the In-Color Paper Pack - Pistachio Pudding.  Cut DSP 8 1/2 x 11 piece and score at 2, 3 1/4, 7 1/4 and 8 1/2 on the long side.  On the short side score at 6 1/2 and 7 3/4.  Cut up as shown in the diagram below.

I cut up 1/2" from the score line so I have those little tabs to fold in.

Coaster Calendar for September and October.

I love the way this card turned out... simple and elegant.  I used Pool Party ink and card stock with the Stampin' Up! stamp sets Flower Shop and Petite Petals.

Technique Tuesday: Split Negative

This is one of the coolest techniques...  usually it's done with a big flower or butterfly.  I think it works with the tree from Lovely as a Tree stamp set.

July Monthly Stamping Class Projects

Today I am sharing a photo of my class projects from my July Stamping Class.  More pictures and details coming on these projects.

I made these cute little lollipop treats as my class freebies for everyone who attended.

Stamping with Scraps: Butterfly and Squares

I had these little pieces of Crisp Cantaloupe lying around and I found this butterfly and walla!  A new card.  The butterflies and the splatter add a nice touch to give the card depth.

Throwback Thursday: Chineese Fold Box

This was a Chineese Fold Box I made for a co-worker's birthday.  I filled the inside of the box with Hershey Chocolate Kisses.  The flowers on top really make this box special.

July Stamping Class Sneak Peak

As I prepare for my July Stamping Class this Friday, I wanted to share a sneak peak of one the projects...I can't stop using the Flower Shop and Petite Petals stamp sets and punches...  it's colorful and I think the girls will love it!

Technique Tuesday: Shattered Glass

Today I am sharing the Shattered Glass Technique.  This one is an oldie but goodie... I love the way the Navy and the Mustard colors look together.  The white lines are so vibrant... almost looks like the Crayon Resist Technique.  Hope this inspires you today!!

Color Combo Challenge: The Open Sea

Today's "Color Combo Challenge" is definitely a challenge for me because these are colors that are not part of my comfort zone.  I normally would not work with these colors together.  I usually go with elegant and understated, but sometimes you have to step out of the box and try new things.  And it always works if you keep it simple.
