Throw Back Thursday: Stampin' Up! Gift Bag

Today's Throw Back Thursday sample is a gift bag I made at my first Stampin' Up! Convention, which was about 5 years ago.  This was one of the make and take projects.  love it!  reminds me of the great time we all had at convention!

April Stamping Class Projects

Well I did it again... I went a little overboard with this month's class projects.  Mother's Day was on my mind when I came up with these cards.  And Pool Party is becoming my favorite Stampin' Up! color in case you didn't notice.  I will feature more photos and details on each project over the next few days.  Enjoy!

Mother's Day Card:  Used Stampin' Up1 Modern Mosaic embossing folder with Soft Sky, White and Black color combo.

Mother's Day Card:  Used Stampin' Up! Oval Framelits, Secret Garden stamp set and framelit.  So sad that this set and framelit is retiring!!

Coaster Calendar:  May and June

Technique Tuesday: Faux Metal

I hope you are loving my Technique Tuesday series as much as I am. I love pulling out my 6x6 Technique Album and looking at all the great techniques we made. This technique is called the "Faux Metal" technique. This would be great for a masculine card.

Stampin' Up! Happy Watercolor

This card was made with the Stampin' Up! Happy Watercolor stamp set in the Occasions Mini catalog (Wood 133188 or Clear 133191).

Supplies:  So Saffron, Very Vanilla and Always Artichoke card stock and classic ink, Black in, Aqua Pen, 3/8" taffeta ribbon and Decorative Dots embossing folder from the SAB catalog.

Stampin' Up! Flower Shop Birthday Card

I've been playing around with the Stampin' Up! Flower Shop set and was inspired to make this birthday card.  Used Stampin' Up! Flower Shop and See Ya Later stamp set and the In-Color 2014-2015 Designer Series Paper pack.  I  love this paper but how do you decided which pattern.. they are all so beautiful.   Hope this inspires you!

Throw Back Thursday: Easter Chick Tins

This Throw Back Thursday sample doesn't seem so "throw back" to me since I still use this little chick.  Let's face it, this was the best and most used Easter stamp set made by Stampin' Up!  We filled these tins with M&M candy... of course.

Stampin' Up! Flower Shop Birthday Card

I made this card for my nieces 19th Birthday.  I wanted to keep it simple and young so I used Stampin' Up! Flower Shop stamp set with matching punch and the Honeycomb embossing folder.

Technique Tuesday: Ink, Spray & Smash

Today's spotlight is on the "Ink, Spray & Smash Technique".  You will need glossy card stock paper to try this technique.  It sort of resembles a "tie die" look.

Post-it Note and Calendar Holder

This is one of the projects the girls will be making in my stamping class on Friday.  Stampin' Up!

Supplies:  Island Indigo card stock and ink, Gumball Green ink and Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper.

Instructions:  Cut 2 pieces of Island Indigo card stock 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 (base) and 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 (calendar top), cut DSP layer piece 3 1/4 x 4.  Score the base piece at 4 1/4 and 6 1/4.

Should lay flat for easy mailing.

Stampin' Up! Floral Framelit

A friend of mine shared this great idea with me.  She made this little Cadbury Egg holder out of the Stampin' Up! Floral Fraemlits.  She used the biggest flower and scored to make this egg.

Stampin' Up! Bloomin With Kindness

Today I am sharing this simple but beautiful card I made with the Stampin' Up! Bloomin With Kindness stamp set.

Throw Back Thursday Project

This was a cool 3D swap from back in the day.  Basically it's a mini album/brag book made with CD Sleeves.  The sleeves are usually made with white matte paper so you can stamp right on them.  Make a front and back cover, put about 4-5 CD sleeves inside and decorate.  The CD window is your photo window.  Very cute idea!

Stampin' Up! Father's Day Card - Open Sea

Today I am sharing this simple Father's Day card that can also be used as a masculine birthday card.  What's unique about this card is the silver strip.  I used Silver Duct Tape from Home Depot and ran the piece through the Chevron Embossing Folder.  Peeled the backing and glued it to the card.  Simple as that.

Technique Tuesday - Polished Stone Technique

Today's Technique Tuesday featured sample is the "Polished Stone Technique".  Such a pretty technique.. This inspires me to try this on a card background.  Hope it inspires you!

Easter Egg Holder

Made this cute little Easter Egg Holder using the new Stampin' Up Tag Punch.  A friend shared this great idea from StampingGinger.com.

Measurements
  • Cut a strip of card stock 2 x 8 1/2 and score at 3 1/2 and 5
  • Cut a 1 1/2 x 4 piece of card stock and score at 1/2, 1, 3 and 3 1/2 (this is your nesting unit)
  • Front was punched with large oval punch and 1" circle punch was used in the center of the nesting unit to hold the egg in place
  • Save the oval punched piece for your greeting tag

Stampin' Up! Teen Card

What kind of card to you make for a teenage girl.  I started with Black, Pink and White... I ended up not using this card, but I do like it and will add to my card supply.

Stampin' Up! The Open Sea

Wanted to try some "masculine" cards for Father's Day.  These cards were made using the Stampin' Up! set "The Open Sea".

Throw Back Thursday

Today's Throw Back Thursday sample is from an old "WOW Swap" I made for a demonstrator meeting.  I purchased these boxes from Michael's in the wood section.  I painted them to match the Stampin' Up! colors and then decorated with the front panel.  Inside the boxes were chocolate kisses (of course) in a cello bag.

Organizing Crafting Supplies

I'm an organizing junkie.  I love when everything matches and fits nice.  I use a lot of these old Stampin' Up! tins to store my craft supplies...  paint chips, coasters, test tubes, wood blocks, brushes, etc.  Adding labels makes it easy to find what I need.

I created these labels in word and punch them out...  The background label is Stampin' Up! DSP.  My friends make fun of me with this paper..  it's all over my craft room.  I can't help it, I like things to match.

You will notice here the labels, the cases where I store my Pearls and Rhinestones and even my little garbage box have the DSP.

Stampin' Up! Technique Tuesday

This week spotlight technique is the "Chalk Lines" technique.  I don't remember this one, but it looks like the emboss resist and the chalk resist technique.  I remember this Stampin' Up! retired set... Embrace Life.  It used to be my "go to" floral stamp set.

Confetti Technique Card

Saw this technique done on someones blog and I had to try it.  You use the SAB Decorative Dots folder with vellum paper, a stylus and markers.  You put the vellum on the embossing folder (indented part) and using your stylus you dry emboss the dots you want and then you flip the vellum and color in with markers.  Pretty cool.

Stampin' Up! Fabulous Florets

Today I am sharing this birthday card I made.  It fun when I have an opportunity to just play with stamps and paper and see what I can come up with.  I Love the way the Early Espresso and the Pistachio colors look together.  It all blends and yet pops at the same time.
