Craft Room Organization: Pool Party

In a previous post, I showed a new way I was organizing my clear blocks.  I love the idea of putting them all in a small desk organizer, but it always bothered me that it only came in black wire mesh.  So this weekend I decided to alter it.  I used Martha Stewart file folders I purchased at Staples and I covered the base to make it look nicer.  These folders already match my craft room.  It reminds me of Pool Party... which I love.

Then I couldn't stop at the organizer and I altered more stuff on my craft table.  My double-side tape dispenser, my little grab tray where I keep the things I need quickly on my desk (scissors, dimensionals, adhesive) and I also altered the jar I use as my garbage bin for small scraps.  I went a little crazy with the folders... but I love it.

I already had the in and out boxes from Martha Stewart so now everything matches beautifully.  If only I could keep the top of my desk this clean all the time.  Now that's a challenge!

Hope this inspires you!

Color Combo Challenge #2

Moonlight DSP Thank You Open Box

I love the Stampin' Up! Moonlight DSP pack.  I made these Thank You boxes for my customers.  These are great to hold little treats, Ghirardelli Chocolate Squares or maybe even 3 x 3 mini cards.

The paper in the DSP packs measure 6 1/2 x 4 1/2.
I scored on the long side at 2 3/4, 3 3/4" and score on both short sides at 3/4"

Add sticky strip to the sides and then decorate.

Lovely As a Tree: Thinking of You

I cased this card from Pinterest.  I saw this card and loved it.  I used Stampin' Up! Soft Suede card stock and the Stampin' Up! Park Avenue DSP.  This is a good example of a good masculine card.

Paint Chip Inspiration #1: Birthday Cake

This year I'm starting a new series on my blog called "Paint Chip Inspiration".  It's amazing how many things you can make using paint chips.  Look for more project ideas coming soon.

This card was made using a BEHR paint chip from Home Depot #150E:  Delicate Blush, Kashmir Pink and Calico Rose.  More details and instructions below.

First I created a template for the birthday cake using scrap paper.

The paint chip was a little too big to leave as is, so I cut off the bottom color strip and trimmed it and then rounded the corners.

Then it was time to decorate and layout the card.  I wanted to add some textures so I layered the cake on white card stock and used Filigree Frame Textured Impressions embossing folder from the Holiday Catalog. Then I punched out white flowers using the Stampin' Up! Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack and the leaves are punched using the Bird Builder punch.

Last step was layering on Blushing Bride card stock...

Fabulous in Black and White: Stampin' Up! Flowering Flourishes

There is something about that Black and White combo that makes stuff look so classy.  In fact, 75% of my wardrobe is B&W.  A few months back I even had a "Black and White Stamping Class" where every card was made with the B&W combo.  I love the way this card turned out... fabulous.  Hope this inspires you.

A while back I created a template for a Butterfly Box.  The box became quite popular and so I wondered if I could alter the pattern a little and make a Christmas Tree Box instead.  Well it worked and it turned out nicely.  Kept it simple.
